CANADIAN STUDY PERMIT AGE LIMIT
MY SON WILL BE 17 YEARS OLD IN NOVEMBER 2017. HE WANTS TO STUDY BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE IN CANADA. HE IS ALREADY IN HIS SECOND YEAR IN A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY AT HOME. IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FACTOR IN THE GRANTING OF VISA FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS?
WILL HE QUALIFY FOR VISA TO ENTER CANADA IN SEPTEMBER 2017?

Canadian Study Permits And Age Limits
There is no age limit to apply for a Canadian Study Permit, often mature students go to Canada to study as is a popular way to emigrate to Canada. Even though there is a small risk of rejection if the Canadian Immigration Officer decides your son will not leave Canada at the end of his studies.
This is a bizarre rule which makes absolutely no sense as the current Canadian Immigration policy was amended in 2017 to make it easier to qualify for Permanent Residency after a period of study in Canada. After two years study, a person qualifies for a three-year work visa, after this time the person will be eligible in most cases to remain indefinitely at that stage.
